The
Child’s Play Specialized Therapy Perspective: We
have found that children progress tremendously when a team approach is used
to address therapeutic needs. That
team includes the child, the parents, private therapist (as a guide and
specialty provider), school team, and other private professionals or
therapists. This
type of inclusive team approach is what yields the best and quickest results
for children. Our goal is always to reserve ongoing, weekly private therapy only for those children with intense and specific needs. The aim is to graduate children from specialty private therapy as soon as possible, when their needs can be appropriately addressed by the remaining people on their team or within naturally occurring age level activities.
This
is a therapeutic approach that we are proud to provide, is the most
appropriate use of private therapy and that we feel yields the best overall
results for children. Streamlining
care keeps parents and therapist honed in their thinking.
It is a very innovative approach, yet different from many therapy
facilities. Any
recommendations provided are designed so that they can be taken advantage of
as a therapy compliment, if you already have an OT on your team, you reside
out of state/country, or if you are not an ongoing client of Child’s Play.
This
approach allows all children the same access to the specialized therapy
protocols and programs we offer. |
